The BMX Tallinn track in Uuesalu is the only track in Northern Estonia where you can ride for fun as well as train as a competitive athlete.
The track is 365 metres long and has a UCI-approved PROSTART start gate. It is open to the public for all local children and young people, and it can also be used for training sessions.
The track was built by BMX Tallinn club members and the community, together with IBE Estonia OÜ, the developer and landowner of Uuesalu village. It was supported by Rae Parish, the Estonian Cycling Federation, the Uuesalu Village Society, the North Harju Cooperation Chamber and many companies, including Infrateenused, Stokker, Väo Paas, InfraRoad, Fortal, Miil, Hartrem, Kopasellid, Instwork, Verston, Tarel, Tartal, Ehitusnorm, Timbeco, UpTech, Sami Masinakeskus, Ramirent, Sõnalabor, Udrik and Majavara Haldus.
Private donors Tõnu Lajal, Rene Kullör, Martin Ott, Eeva-Kristiina Sander, Margit Sein and Jaan Lajal, as well as the people of Uuesalu village, also supported the construction.
The construction was partly funded by the European Union, Rae Parish, the Harju County Association of Local Authorities and companies – but its true value lies in the fact that most of the work was done by club members and the community with their own hands and hearts. It is a place that stands for cooperation, care and the belief that big dreams can come true when you have slightly crazy but 120% dedicated people leading the way. Among the many who lent a hand were Toomas Metsaots, Mario Pauskar, Eger Karuse, Toomas Saar, Jaan Lajal, Lauri Kasemaa, Maarit Maremäe, Evelin Metsaots, Kaspar Hillermaa and Rain Rannamets.
The public BMX racing track in Uuesalu was built under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027 intervention “LEADER – community-led local development”. The project was also partly funded by Rae Parish and the Harju County Association of Local Authorities through the local initiative programme.
